Mr. Simon began his service on the MCECD Board of Managers in September 2007 as an appointee of Commissioner’s Court.
Jim moved to Oak Ridge North in 1973 and has owned and operated a barber shop in the city for many years. He currently serves as an Oak Ridge North City Council member.
After moving, Jim has spent many hours volunteering in the Oak Ridge community for area youth sports programs as well as performing many local civic duties. He was a founding member of the South Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered as a fireman in the South Montgomery Volunteer Department for 6 years. As a founding member and board member of the Oak Ridge North Athletic Association for 12 years, Jim also spent a hours coaching youth sports within the organization.
Jim has also served on the Oak Ridge North M.U.D. board, the Oak Ridge North Long Range Planning Committee and the Oak Ridge North Economic Development Committee.
