The Montgomery County Communications Center has the distinction of being one of two; Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) within the County, the other PSAP is located in the City of Conroe. Citizens who call 9-1-1 for any emergency service (Law Enforcement, Fire or EMS) are routed to one of these two centers; then directed to the appropriate discipline. The whole process from answering and routing calls occurs within seconds.

In 2015, the Montgomery County  Sheriff's Office Communication Center received 479,123 calls for service. 204,736 incoming calls were 9-1-1 calls. On average, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received 9,213 calls for service per week or 1,316 calls per 24 hour period. The Communications Center placed a total of 159,028 outgoing calls averaging 3,058 outgoing calls per week or 436 per 24 hour period.

In addition to answering emergency calls; the Montgomery County Communication Center Dispatches for 30 plus law enforcement agencies and houses the Texas Crime and Information Center / National Crime and Information Center (TCIC/NCIC ) computer system. The NCIC/TCIC computer system ties the Communication Center to State and Federal Agencies. It allows for the check and entry of wanted persons and stolen items from any law enforcement agency that is dispatched through the Communication Center.

This division consists of 46 Telecommunicators, 4 Shift Supervisors, and a Communication Supervisor. We are here to assist the citizens of Montgomery County and we are the first voice a citizen will hear in an emergency.
